Your Homepage will default to the Modules area of your course. You have the ability to change the Home page by clicking on Home in the left hand menu and click Choose home page.

What staff are doing are designing their own home page using various styles, images, and hyperlinks to create a more welcoming home page for their students. See the 'Growing with Canvas' course home page to see what's possible and you can search the Commons area for any templates you could work from.

Once you've designed your home page in Pages, this will guide you as to how make it your course Home page for all users.

1. Go to Pages and open the Page you want to publish as Home, make sure it's Published, then click the 3 vertical dots in the right hand corner and click Use as front page

2. Click on Home in the left hand menu and click Choose home page

3. Switch the home page to be Pages front page and you should see the name of the Page you want as Home. Click Save and the Page will now be seen when you click on Home.

If you don't see the Page name, you can click on Change and repeat step 1.
